More than fins nos cuenta la historia de una joven sirena que es salvada por un humano y a raíz de esto, se vuelve humana. En agradecimiento, la sirena debe pasar 7 días en tierra con el humano, ayudándolo con los retos que este pueda estar enfrentado en su vida personal. Por lo menos así lo marca la ley #52 de las sirenas y tritones, o"habitantes marinos" como la autora los describe. Sin embargo, en esta travesía Marina, nuestra protagonista descubrirá las maravillas del mundo terrestre y forjará lazos que serán difíciles de quebrantar cuando le corresponda volver a su hogar.
Esta lectura fue algo así como una brisa fresca en un día soleado. Es muy fácil seguir la narración de la autora y las escenas que nos va plasmando según avanza la historia. Por lo que me pareció un buen libro para introducir a los más jovenes en la lectura del género fantástico/romántico, y además inaugurarlos en el inglés.
El romance que se nos presenta, es inocente y nos transporta a nuestras épocas más coloridas incursionando a su vez en lo fantástico y ficticio.
Es hermoso saber que no fui la única que se crió soñando con sirenas en esta isla. ¿Que digo?, somos de isla caribeña, nacemos con el mito de la sirena susurrando en nuestros oídos aunque no nos demos cuenta, pero fue bonito verlo apalabrado en esta historia.

More than fins tells the story of a young mermaid who is saved by a human and as a result of this, she becomes human. In gratitude, the mermaid must spend 7 days on land with the human, helping him with the challenges that he may be facing in his personal life. At least that is how the law # 52 of mermaids and mermen, or "mer-peopel" as the author describes them, says. However, in this marine journey, our protagonist will discover the wonders of the land world and will forge ties that will be difficult to break when it is time for her to return home.
This reading was like a cool breeze on a sunny day. It was very easy to follow the narration of the author and the scenes that she captures us as the story progresses. So it seemed to me, like a good book to introduce the youngest, to reading the fantasy/romantic genre, and also to open them in English literature.
The romance that is presented to us, is innocent and transports us to our most colorful times, venturing into the fantastic and fictional at the same time.
It is beautiful to know that I was not the only one who grew up dreaming of mermaids on this island. What do I say? We are from the Caribbean island, we were born with the myth of the mermaid whispering in our ears even though we do not realize it, but it was nice to see it supported in this story.
